Rahula went to Gautama Buddha and claimed for his heritage only because of the strong insistence of others.

Gautama Buddha held down three fingers of his hand and said to Rahula 

“Herewith I'm giving you these three heritages”. 

Little finger - Stay equal with others without a gap

Ring finger - Live with Maithriya 

Middle finger - When you live with Equality and Maithriya, father will be with you at your side.
